Field Trip!

2007 trip with Maxeys
This week the girls are on spring break and we have enjoyed the (finally) nice weather.  We have spent a lot of time outside playing, and yesterday we picked up Papa Bear at work and headed a local farm for some fun.

The last time we went was in 2007, on a very hot August day.  The weather was very nice this time around, and things were a little different.  Cagle's Dairy is now Cagle's Family Farm because they recently stopped milk/dairy production, which meant no milk sample at the end of the tour.  Instead, we got to help plant some cabbage and got a bean planting project to take home.
Let me show you what we did!  First we went through the "cattle" tunnel under the road.

Next, we went over to the animal petting/feeding area.  We saw a skittish calf get a bottle of milk, then fed some cabbage to some sheep.  There was also a funny black pig, some turkeys, 3 ducks (Aflac!!), and some roosters and chickens.

After the tour, we went to eat at Bub-a-Q - yum!!  When we went to drop Papa Bear off at work, we went in for a minute to say hello to his co-workers.  Goldilocks told everyone about our trip to the farm and how the dog 'grounded' up the cows. ha!
